Libby’s studio practice supports her teaching of screen printing, drawing and collage.
In turn student approaches, their work, the conversations, feedback and discussion all influence the evolution and energy of the workshops.

Workshop 1.
Printing freshness
Combine your hand drawn designs with pre-made stencils to create beautiful printed fabrics.
Screenprinting was popularised during the wonderful pattern filled 60's & 70's, providing us with endless inspiration for shape, colour, texture and pattern exploration. After just one day you’ll understand the fundamentals of how screen printing works on fabric using transparent binder, pigments, hand cut stencils, basic equipment and know how.
The design thinking involved is challenging but fun, and will enhance your understanding of design principles and elements. For beginners it will get the creative ball rolling.
By the end of the day you will have produced two pieces of fabric* that you can transform into totes, small purses, cushions and more.
Perfect for keeping yourself or gifting to a friend.
*each approx. 40 x 120 cm
This small group workshop is sure to leave you wanting to do more. Groups of 4-6
This workshop can be taken multiple times, developing skills and designs each time.
Workshop 2.
Print ‘n’ Sew
Day 1 Combine screen, block and hand painting methods to create beautiful fabrics.
Day 2 Be guided sewing fabric into a fancy tote, cushion, or pot plant cover.
You may be familiar with the basic method of screen printing using hand cut stencils with textured and patterned screens.
This workshop builds on those skills and techniques by layering your screen print with block prints and hand painting. You are welcome to bring your own piece of natural fibre, light coloured clothing to transform as well, upgrading it into an heirloom treasure.
The planning and practical skills involved are challenging but fun and will enhance your understanding of the design principles and elements required for breathing energy into reclaimed fabrics.
By the end of Day 1 you will have embellished a piece of fabric* and a piece of your own clothing.
On Day 2 (max. 4 hours) we'll have a wonderful home sewer guide us in the transformation of your fabric into a tote, cushion, or a pot plant cover. Perfect for keeping yourself or gifting to a friend.
*approx. 50 x 100 cm
This small group workshop is sure to leave you wanting to make lots more.
Workshop 3.
Creative Collab
Where your friendship circle meets to create a beautiful textile experience.
This workshop involves collaboration between the printers, influencing the direction and final outcome. Host a lovely birthday or other celebration workshop, (fun day) in the studio.
If you have a great reason to get your friends together for some screen print, block printing or hand painting on fabric action, let me know. I’m happy to discuss your ideas.
One idea may be… reclaiming second hand goods and creating a whole new fancy product to remember the event. This may be a table cloth, napkins, pillow cases, cushions or old t-shirts. The main criteria being that the product is a natural fibre: cotton, linen, hemp; light in colour: white, cream or pastels; and not overly textured. Preferably not new.
A range of reclaimed textile goods is collected and kept on hand for this purpose.
