Libby’s involvement in the group exhibition ‘Composing Pattern’ in 2021 required her to consider and document the creative and technical processes involved in making the final pieces come together.

Along with two other textile designers, Natalie Ryan and Lucy King, Curator of the Living Arts Space Bendigo, Amy Carr-Bottomley, thought it would make for an interesting experience for visitors to see each designer–maker’s approach and process.

Since then it has become part of Libby’s MO to document the process and share on social media.

Libby’s process evolves all the time depending upon the aim. A hands on approach is the preference where she is lead by the materials she is working with, and what outcomes she is pursuing.

Presently, there is a lot of screenprinting onto fabric to create pictures and patterns. Fortunately Libby’s backyard studio space encourages and accommodates this practise.
