Libby’s textile, pattern and colour interest began way before it became her actual practise. Libby’s mother changed the decor of their family home from room to room, once the whole house was completed… she began again.

Winifred’s pile of ‘Home Beautiful’ magazines provided her with new design approaches, patterns, textures and colour combinations. Growing up with the heavily patterned wallpapered walls, linoleum floors and ornately decorated bedspreads of the 70’s and 80’s, it is little wonder that Libby’s interest in fabric design took over her creative practise.

After completing a Fine Art and a Secondary Teaching degrees, the designing and making her own printed fabrics began when Libby studied Studio Textile Design and Production at Melbourne Institute of Textiles.

Libby then taught in the Textile Design and Printing course (now RMIT), and after moving to Bendigo in 2012, began her own studio practise.
